My Approach 

I do not believe in a one size fits all approach. 

I feel that each person is uniquely and wonderfully made. A person, like a tree can be seen as having many facets. Strong roots, a sturdy trunk and flexible limbs are needed to weather the storms of life. The  many rings of a tree reveal the years of life. Exploring one layer, can shed light on others.  Not surprisingly, our childhood and early experiences are linked to who we are today. Exploring the past, while staying in the present can lead to understanding and change. I am  trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a therapeutic tool that can be used to help clients reprocess traumatic material in their lives, creating opportunities for healing and resolution. 

Nourishing and replenishing the mind, body and spirit can bring about resiliency and strength. At times, I will work in collaboration with physicians to better address the needs of clients. Seeing a psychologist can provide an opportunity to slow down, reevaluate, make better choices, gain courage and find healing in and through the therapeutic relationship.

 Psychotherapy Can Promote Healing

  Sometimes life can become overwhelming and stressful and a person may experience struggles and difficulties. My approach is collaborative, interactive and compassionate. Both the client and I work together to address the concerns that are brought to therapy and set goals to be accomplished. Psychotherapy can lead to building a stronger sense of self, skills to better handle life’s difficulties and new directions for growth.
